CRPF constable arrested

Police arrested CRPF constable Deepak Saudagar on Friday for killing a passenger and injuring two others travelling in a night super-bus bound for Dibrugarh on Thursday night. he victim has been identified as Anup Bhattacharjee of Doom Dooma in Tinsukia district. The injured have been identified as Abhijit Ghosh from Calcutta and Suman Dam from the city?s Chatribari area. The police said the inebriated constable had fired indiscriminately inside the bus.

V-C assurance

B>lGauhati University vice-chancellor G.N. Talukdar assured the All Assam Students? Union on Friday that the results of degree examinations of all the streams would be declared within the next 15 days.

The result of the final examination certificate course in handloom technology conducted in March by the directorate of Handloom and Textiles, Assam, was declared on Friday.

The city chapter of Friends of Tribal Society, a social welfare organisation, will be inaugurated on November 27.
