Guwahati, Dec. 21: Gauhati Town Club marched into the final of the Ankurjyoti Challenge Trophy cricket tournament, defeating Santipur Athletic Club by 49 runs in the first semi-final at Latasil ground here today.

Batting first, GTC were all out for 182 in 30 overs and Santipur AC were later bundled out for 133 in 27.5 overs.

Nitin Das topscored for GTC with 51 (4x1, 6x4) and Yead Islam scored 34 (4x1, 6x1). Gautam Dutta also contributed 20 (6x3).

Tauhid Ali Talukdar and Rajender Mahato of Santipur took three wickets each, giving away 30 and 35 runs respectively.

For Santipur, Raju Das (26, 4x3, 6x1) was the topscorer and Mrigankajyoti Sarma and Ibrahim Ali contributed 18 and 17 respectively.

Ram Kripal Gupta of GTC scalped three for 12 and Debabrata Roy and Islam shared two each conceding 13 and 31 runs respectively.

Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre A will play Bud Cricket Club A in the second semi-final tomorrow.
