Meaty Palate
G.S. Road, Opposite Black Diamond Towers
Why Meaty Palate?
A small joint opened only recently, Meaty Palate, as its name suggests, is a delectable treat for the non-veggies in town. Be it chicken, mutton, pork or ham, there are lip-smacking choices galore.
Although located on the busy G.S. Road with a host of other restaurants in the neighbourhood, Meaty Palate has made a name for itself among food enthusiasts for dishes which are rare in other eateries in the city.
Cuisine:
With chicken cocktails and cutlets to ham sandwiches and more meaty temptations on offer, the restaurant is the place to let loose the carnivore in you. All the raw meat are procured from farms, an assurance against health hazards. One can also buy whole chicken (with or without giblets), boneless chicken, whole legs, drumsticks and cuzzy cut (the whole chicken is cut into small pieces of uniform size).
Service:
Four people run the eatery, which is open all seven days a week. The service is quite prompt and one does not have to wait too long to be served a favourite pick.
First Impression:
Painted a dashing red, the signboard at the entrance of the joint gives visitors a thorough idea of the kind of food offered at the place.
Menu:
Chicken cutlet and chicken burger are great favourites among Meaty Palate?s young patrons. Other popular delicacies served here are chilli chicken, chicken nuggets and chicken salami.
Sausages of pork and chicken are the latest addition to the bill of fare.
And, of course, there are the mouth-watering tandoori concoctions any restaurant worth its name will serve. The chicken tandoori, chicken tangri kebab, chicken kalmi kebab, chicken tikka, chicken reshmi kebab, chicken sheek kebab and mutton sheek kakab are the hot favourites of Meaty Palate?s clientele.
Then there are the variety of rolls ? special chicken roll, chicken roll, cheese egg roll, egg roll and vegetable roll ? to be enjoyed over a cup of steaming tea.
Expectedly, the vegetarian platter is quite limited with only the rare paneer tikka or paneer curry finding a mention on the menu. . Also, there are the vegetable versions of the cutlets, rolls, sandwiches and burgers served to confirmed veggies.
Variations:
?With summer just days away, we are planning to include fruit juices and some popular ice-cream flavours in a few days? time,? said the manager.
Minus Point:
Like the rest of the eating joints and restaurants in and around the city, Meaty Palate, too, lacks space for proper parking. Vehicle owners have a harrowing time parking their cars as the place is quite crowded.
More importantly, with its popularity on the rise and the clientele expanding, the management should immediately make seating arrangements for patrons who love to eat there.
Moreover, Meaty Palate could do with a makeover. A new and hip d?cor would be a sound investment for the future, for it will attract more diners.
Postscript:
This new entrant on the culinary block promises to become the city?s most talked-about eatery. While college-goers have already developed a taste for the food served at the joint, housewives, too, find it convenient as the place sells both cooked and raw meat.
