Kohima, Nov. 22: Varied notes will rock Nagaland as several international and national bands will perform in the state in December, thanks to the state government's initiative to make it a music hub.
Famous bands like Helloween, a speed metal band from Germany, Michael Learns to Rock from Denmark, famous guitarist from Sweden, Kee Marcello's K2 band, Abba Tribute Band, among others, will perform at a music festival to be held as part of the Hornbill Festival.
International rock bands, including Fire House, Petra, White Lion, Mr Big, Smokie and many more, have also performed in the state recently, much to the delight of music lovers.
The Coming Generation (TCG), an organisation from Nagaland, confirmed Kee Marcello's participation in the Magnificent Fiesta, to be held at Naga heritage village Kisama, nearly 10km from here, during the Hornbill Festival on December 5.
Marcello will perform live, along with his band members Tim Brown (drummer), Jason Banks (guitar) and Wayne (bass player).
TCG and event partners, Osiris International, KPD Foundation, Nagaland tourism department, Notion, Sky Entertainment press innovation and MJ creation are organising the event to help raise funds for differently-abled children in Nagaland.
The event aims at fulfilling the measures implemented in the state to help disabled children selected from 11 districts.
The Helloween concert will be organised by Sky Entertainment and Nagaland Outdoor Club and is supported by MTV and Rolling Stone magazine.
The organisers have started to sell tickets from various outlets in the state.
The band will perform at the hockey ground, Indira Gandhi Stadium, on December 7.
The soft rock group Michael Learns to Rock will be coming to India on a multi-city tour from December 11.
Formed in 1988, the Danish band consists of singer-keyboard player Jascha Richter, drummer Kare Wanscher, guitarist Mikkel Lentz and bassist Soren Madsen.
The group, which has delivered hits like Paint My Love, You Took My Heart Away, Sleeping Child and Someday, will visit Dimapur.
"This will be the most extensive tour we have ever done in India and we hope to see all our beautiful Indian fans there," reads the official site of the band that has performed in Shillong and Mumbai in the past.
The Indian tour is an initiative by event management company called 7Sisters Entertainment.
