Jorhat, Sept. 8: Home team Estantic Club defeated Rajasthani Club of Nagaon 3-1 today to enter the second round of the ATPA Shield football tournament here.
The winners led 1-0 at the breather through a goal by Pinku Chetia. Arup Neog and Soni Sumi found the net for the winners in the second half. Nantu Debnath scored the reducer goal for the Nagaon team.
Tomorrow, Railway SC, Tinsukia, will take on Second Assam State Reserve Force.
Dhubri cops win title
A golden goal by striker Rubal Ali helped Dhubri Police Athletic Club clinch the district football championship, defeating Dhubri Town Club 3-2 in the final, reports our Dhubri correspondent.
Haren Gogoi and Dharmalal Kachari scored the other two goals for the police team, while Ankur Kanti Guha scored a brace for the losers.

Manipur shooter’s feat: L. Rigan of Manipur broke the meet record to snatch the gold in the sub-junior air rifle event at the 13th national G.V.M. shooting championship in Chennai recently, reports our Imphal correspondent. He scored 372 to better the previous mark of 367 in a board of 400 maximum points.
