Bordoloi cricket

Dibrugarh, Dec. 19: Digboi Cricket Coaching Centre prevailed over Duliajan Cricket Academy in the 3rd Nandadhar Bordoloi memorial prize money cricket tournament, being played at the Margherita Public HS School playground.

Duliajan Cricket Academy won the toss and decided to bat first in the 30-overs-a-side match. The team was bundled out for 117 in 29.5 overs.

Opener Dipok Gogoi was the topscorer with 27, facing 40 deliveries with four boundaries. Three other batsmen, Hemen Das, Romen Barman and Mintu Gogoi, scored 13 each.

For Digboi, Bicky Dadri picked up 3 for 19 runs while Umesh Tanti took 2 for 14.

Led by a sparkling unbeaten 31 of just 24 balls by Arup Sonowal, who was declared the Man of the Match, Digboi managed a victory over their rivals with 20 deliveries left.

At the other end, Opener Pankaj Konwar remained unbeaten on 31 facing 74 balls. His innings included two boundaries.

Tomorrow, Digboi Cricket Coaching Centre will take on Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre in the first quarter- final match.
