Guwahati, July 28: Ranji player Gokul Sharma and junior state players Arijeet Sengupta and Tazinder Singh have once again proved their mettle as quality cricketers, fashioning convincing wins for City Cricket Coaching Centre (CCCC) during a recent exposure tour of Chandigarh and Delhi.

The coaching centre, based at Dispur Parade Ground, won all the three under-19 matches against Dronacharya Cricket Academy, Harry Cricket Academy and RACF, Delhi, with Sharma and Singh hogging the limelight. The CCCC won five of the nine matches its three squads ? under-13, under-16 and under-19 ? played during the fortnight-long tour. The under-16s won two of their matches.

Apart from helping their side amass challenging totals with the bat, Sharma and Singh also proved themselves useful with the ball. In the first match, opener Sengupta topscored with a solid 41, which was consolidated further by Chirontan Das (28) and 25 from Sharma in 151 all out off 30 overs. Later, Suresh Roy hauled five for 29 and Singh scalped three for 17 to bundle out Harry Cricket Academy for 138 in 25.5 overs.

Similarly, in the second tie, Singh scored 49 while junior state players Kuldeep Pegu and Arijeet Sengupta contributed 18 each on the total of 142 for three. Earlier, Sharma scalped three for 15 while Singh and last year?s under-15 state skipper Rishav Das shared two each to restrict Dronancharya Academy to 141 for eight.

In the last tie against RACF, Delhi, Sharma and Roy shared three wickets each while Singh claimed two for seven to skittle out RACF for 82 and fashion a 10-wicket win.

Bicky Bharali and Trideep Konwar remained unbeaten on 38 and 30 respectively.

State players Rishav Das, Mridul Bordoloi and Pranab Das were impressive in the under-16 matches. Though they lost the first match against Dronacharya Academy, Rishav was adjudged Man of the Match, having scored 44 and claimed two for 18. Pranab also scalped three for 28.

In the second match against Rohini Sports Complex (Delhi), Pranab topscored with 41 while Mridul Bordoloi claimed two for 20.

Mridul notched four for 24 while Rishav claimed two for 18 and Niranjan Mahanta three for 15 to pull off a seven-wicket win over Dronacharya Academy in the last match.

However, the under-13 campaign was not an impressive one, as the side lost all three matches.

The team, comprising mostly inexperienced players, played against DAV Cricket Coaching Centre, Chandigarh, Hangsharaj Public School Cricket Academy, Delhi, and Harry Academy.

The tour, led by NIS coach Gautam Hazarika, had been approved by the Assam Cricket Association.
