Dibrugarh: Assam Congress spokesperson Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee on Wednesday accused the BJP of trying to "destroy" the secular fabric of the country. He also claimed the BJP government was trying to "fool" the people of Assam by giving "false assurances".
Bhattacharjee attacked the ruling party at a news conference after the PCC's executive meeting held here to discuss issues plaguing the state.
Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia said the BJP had failed to fulfil pre-poll promises in Assam like regularisation of services of contractual teachers, flood control and embankment repair and Brahmaputra dredging.
