Guwahati, Dec. 16: The National Mission on Bamboo Applications and the Confederation of Indian Industry have urged the Centre to consider passing new legislation to bring in uniformity in the forest policy and regulatory regimes related to bamboo in the Northeast.

This was stated in a study — Regulatory Regime and Transit Access of Bamboo in North Eastern India — which was released today.

The occasion was the inauguration of Enterprise NorthEast 2006, a trade expo, at the IOC Refinery Ground.
