Guwahati, Jan. 27: The Assam Tribune today made it to the semi-finals of the inter-media T20 cricket tournament, defeating NE TV by a narrow margin of six runs in the third quarter-final at Judges Field here.

Put in to bat, The Assam Tribune posted 129 losing all wickets in 18.5 overs and NE TV fell six runs short when they were restricted to 123 for nine in the 20 overs.

Ratul Deka (30, 5x4) was the topscorer for The Assam Tribune and teammates Purujit Nath and Hiren Nath chipped in with 25, (5x4) and 16 (1x4) respectively.

Pranab Jyoti Das of NE TV scalped four wickets for 20 runs and Tatar Sengupta chipped in with two for 23.

In their chase, Lenin Saurav topscored for NE TV with 48 runs, laced with nine boundaries, while Ramiz Ali Murtaza contributed 17 (2x4) and Hari Prasad 14 (3x4).

Hiren Nath of The Assam Tribune notched up three wickets for 25 runs as teammates Ratul Deka and Amoresh Sinha shared two each for 18 and 21 runs respectively.

Prag will play Asomiya Pratidin in the last quarter-final tomorrow.
