Itanagar, April 23: The Arunachal Pradesh government has created 2,541 new posts under the health and family welfare department recently to revamp the healthcare system in the state.
An official statement issued today said of 2,541 posts, 1,716 had been created recently.
These include five posts of super specialists, 36 posts of junior specialists, including medicines, surgical, anaesthesiology, paediatrics, gynaecology, pathologist, microbiology, epidemiologist, biochemistry, medicine, seven posts of dental specialists, four posts of drug inspector and 53 posts of staff nurse and 324 posts of group C, among others.
Chief minister Kalikho Pul said the government had created the posts to overcome staff crunch in hospitals and health centres across the state. Pul hoped that by filling up the vacant posts, health indicators of the state would improve.
He also appealed to the health workers and the government employees to refrain from forming unions.
