Guwahati, Dec. 29: Ankurjyoti Club excelled on the Latasil Ground today, crushing Kharom Dao Cricket Club by a huge margin of 112 runs in a league match of the River Rine Club-organised Guwahati Challenge Trophy invitation cricket tournament.
Put to bat first, Ankurjyoti Club exploited wayward bowling by the opponents to pile up a mammoth total of 243 for six in the stipulated 30 overs.
Chasing the target, the Kharom Dao batsmen managed only 131 runs for nine in 30 overs.
Robin Das topscored for Ankurjyoti with 76, hammering 12 boundaries off the 67 balls he faced. Akash Chakraborty and Simanata Neogi also chipped in with quickfire knocks of 35 (6x4) and 27 (2x4, 2x6) respectively.
Rajib Kalita contributed a run-a-ball 26 (3x4) and Sukumar Barman 20 (4x4).
Simanta Kalita and Rupak Roy of Kharom Dao shared two wickets each, conceding 24 and 53 runs respectively.
In their run chase, Nipu Basumatary topscored for Kharom Dao with 37 (4x4, 1x6) while Dilip Singh contributed 22 (17b, 1x4, 2x6). Pankaj Ingty (15, 2x4) was the other notable scorer for the side.
Nitin Das and Robin Das shared two wickets, giving away six and nine runs respectively.
