Dibrugarh, Oct. 14: Rupjyoti Sangha, Jokai will take on Young Star Club, Duliajan in the inaugural match of the 5th Capt. Jintu Gogoi memorial football tournament here tomorrow.
The tournament is being organised by the Dah division of the army and conducted by the Dibrugarh-based 11 Guards Regiment with technical assistance from the Dibrugarh District Sports Association.
The matches will be held simultaneously at the Chowkidinghee playground and the Dibrugarh District Sports Association outdoor stadium.
In all, 14 teams are taking part in the tournament this year.
The participating teams have been divided into two pools. Pool A comprises Moran Town Club, Duliajan Town Club, Tengakhat Sports Association, Moud tea estate, Chabua, Milan Jyoti Sangha, Tamulbari tea estate and Jeoti Sangha, Jokai.
In pool B, teams like Tinsukia Railway Divisional Sports Club, Dibrugarh Football Coaching Centre, Dehing Football Club, Duliajan, Rupjyoti Sangha, Jokai, Young Star Club, Duliajan, Namrup Town Club and Thanai tea estate are in the fray.
