A group of ancient vampires try to adjust to life in 21st century Staten Island

The 2014 film by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement came out of nowhere, punched us in the solar plexus and left us rolling on the floor laughing. Now we are at Season 3 of the series and it kicks off right where it left off last season. With Guillermo’s (Harvey Guillén) secret vampire-killing venture now out in the open, he is calling the shots more actively. The humour still feels fresh, with the show’s best moments coming when the mythical beings try to make sense of the millennial world. Case in point: in one episode, Guillermo turns into Nandor with a magical cloak to try and help woo Nandor’s crush, but ends up convincing her that Nandor has feelings for Guillermo instead. Just two episodes in, there are already new plotlines being explored, interesting (and hilarious) villains in the picture and a more intolerable Colin Robinson.
