The Wild Robot probably has the weirdest logline of any film or book that you’ve come across: A robot finds itself on a strange island after a shipwreck and makes friends with the wild animals in its surroundings, before adopting an orphaned gosling. But this is precisely where it shines too! The film’s final trailer shows how at its core, a story about relationships and compassion will always resonate with people, even if the protagonist is a rogue robot. Apart from a lot of fuzzy adorable moments, the trailer also hints at an epic battle for custody, where animals and robots take on each other. The film’s stellar animated visuals are complimented by brilliant voice actors like Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu and Mark Hamill. Adapted from Peter Brown’s acclaimed book series, don’t forget to catch the premiere of this film in theatres on September 27.
