Prime Video’s One Mic Stand was a surprise hit in 2019’s OTT catalogue, with each episode featuring a stand-up comedian mentoring a celebrity in live comedy. The first season featured some huge names including actor Taapsee Pannu, singer Vishal Dadlani, and politician Shashi Tharoor who came across as the breakout.
For its second season, Sapan Verma has introduced a diverse line-up featuring noteworthy names across showbiz and media such as actor Sunny Leone, rapper Raftaar, author Chetan Bhagat, journalist Faye D’Souza and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Every act offers nods to the eccentricities of their own stardom, and refreshing insight into being a celebrity. Be it Leone’s quips about the Indian man’s obsession with her past, Faye’s commentary on the sad state of TV news, Bhagat’s boisterous dismissal of critics, or Johar’s take on his self-indulgent show, the new show is quite the rage.
