A new year needs a new binge-watch obsession and something tells us the Joseph Gordon-Levitt-starrer Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber will score high on our list in 2022. Gordon-Levitt plays Uber’s former CEO Travis Kalanick, one of the most controversial Silicon Valley figures, who was famously ousted in a boardroom coup. The show, based on Mike Isaac's best-selling book Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber charts the birth of the revolutionary ride-hailing service but is also styled like a cautionary tale against toxic work culture.
Battle for Uber is the first instalment in this anthology series developed by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who are also the minds behind hedge fund drama Billions. The series, which is set to premiere in February 2022, lines up an impressive cast with Uma Thurman playing entrepreneur and Uber board member Ariana Huffington and Kyle Chandler playing Kalanick’s mentor Bill Gurley.
