What better way to celebrate a radical filmmaker’s birth month than by re-watching one of his most enduring classics? David Lynch’s Twin Peaks is not just a cult nineties phenomenon but its eccentricity also made it one of the most polarising TV shows ever. The original series which premiered in 1990 followed FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) who arrives at the fictional town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). The show balanced supernatural horror with elements of camp and thriller.

The reboot, Twin Peaks: The Return is set 25 years later and follows multiple storylines, some of which are linked to Special Agent Cooper and Laura Palmer. Cooper finds himself trapped in the Black Lodge with his doppelganger who is inhabited by the malevolent spirit of BOB. If you’re in for some goosebumps on a chilly Sunday, give this show a try.
