Francis Ford Coppola’s epic crime drama The Godfather turns 50 this year and Paramount Pictures has dropped a new trailer for the film's upcoming limited theatrical release and also the trilogy's digital restoration for home media.
"We felt privileged to restore these films and a little in awe every day we worked on them. We were able to witness first-hand how the brilliant cinematography, score, production design, costume design, editing, performances, and of course, screenwriting and direction became famously more than the sum of their parts. It was our commitment to honour all of the filmmakers' exceptional work,” said Andrea Kalas, Paramount Archive's senior vice president.
The two-minute trailer features some of the iconic scenes from the trilogy’s first instalment and also explores the re-mastering in 4K. The restored version of the trilogy will also be available on home media March 22 onwards.
