The first celebrity sex tape had a murky history

Lily James and Sebastian Stan have already stunned fans with their transformation for the upcoming show Pam & Tommy. The mini-series follows Baywatch icon Pamela Anderson and Motley Crue frontman Tommy Lee who fell prey to a sex tape scandal after a private tape was stolen from their home. The series will also follow the couple’s whirlwind romance (they famously married each other after spending 96 hours together) and noughties fame.
The new 1: 46-minute trailer explores the toll the incident took on the couple, particularly Anderson who has in the past, opened up about how the viral tape made her life difficult. “If some people just take it on a level of this is a really crazy fun, nostalgic ’90s crime story, great. If it sparks debate about issues of privacy and celebrity and e-commerce or anything else it sparks, great. I just mostly want people to really enjoy it,” said showrunner Robert Seigel.
Pam & Tommy drops on Hulu this February.
