Shah Rukh Khan’s mega releases are a lot like Diwali and the epic romance Om Shanti Om is his most extravagant outing yet. Everything about the Farah Khan film is grand and spectacular, be it the impressive sets or the vibrant costumes.
Not only did it pay tribute to the larger-than-life ethos of Bollywood, but also introduced us to Deepika Padukone, one of the most promising names to have emerged in Bollywood in the last few decades. The track Deewangi Deewangi became much more than a catchy tune because it managed to get 31 Bollywood stars to shake a leg together. The song turned movie halls around the country into one grand party in 2007 and continues to do so with TV screens today.
Over everything else, Om Shanti Om is a classic tale of hope and perseverance just like the story behind the festival of Diwali.
