Directed by Pablo Larraín, Spencer covers a weekend in Princess Diana's life, as she gears up for Christmas festivities with the British Royal Family at the Sandringham estate in 1990. From her look to her mannerisms and accent, Kristen Stewart absolutely immerses herself into the role of Lady Di — something that has been appreciated by film critics who have been raving about her performance ever since the film’s footage was shown at CinemaCon. Her acting chops shine through as she depicts Diana in the last legs of her marriage with Prince Charles and torn between her two personas, the one that is “real” and the one “they take pictures of”. An Oscar nomination for Stewart is being considered a real possibility by both fans and critics. The film hits theatres on November 5.
