Netflix has been steadily growing its anime library and the strategy seems to be working for the streaming giant. The newest outing on its slate is the popular anime adaptation of the Japanese manga series Kotaro Lives Alone, written and illustrated by Mami Tsumura. The ten-episode series follows the story of the five-year-old Kotaro Sato who lives by himself in Shimizu Apartments. The precocious child runs his own errands with his toy sword strapped to his side. He befriends Shin Karino, a reclusive manga artist who also lives in his ramshackle apartment building.
Mami Tsumura’s manga series has eight volumes, which has the fans hoping that the show will return with a second season, considering season 1 has only unravelled one part of the story.
