Netflix just dropped the first trailer of its much-awaited limited series Inventing Anna which chronicles the journey of Anna Delvey, the convicted con artiste. Delvey, who was born Anna Sorokin, pretended to be a German heiress between 2013 and 2017 in order to scam hotels, banks and celebrities in New York. She claimed that she was set to inherit a $67 million trust fund and scammed New York businesses out of a total of $275,000.

She was finally convicted in 2019 and was found guilty of eight charges, including grand larceny, and was sentenced to upto 12 years in state prison. Inventing Anna is being developed by Bridgerton showrunner Shonda Rhimes and stars Ozark star Julie Garner in the role of Delvey. The 2:24 minute thriller promises a glimpse into the lives of the ultra rich and has already garnered a lot of praise.
