Cobalt Blue promises multiple hues of anger and betrayal

The trailer for Netflix's adaptation of Sachin Kundalkar's award-winning novel Cobalt Blue seems to be hinting at quiet chaos. A distinct sense of conflict builds up over the 2:24 minute clip, but never quite reaches a crescendo.
The film follows two siblings (Neelay Mehendale and Anjali Sivaraman) who fall in love with the same man (Prateik Babbar), shortly after their family moves to Kerala. The modest rural setting is a refreshing aspect and offers a far more localised feel than any of Netflix's big-budget productions so far. Kundalkar himself has adapted his novel for this sensitive drama which is a big draw for his readers. Set to release on December 3, we can't wait to see how Kundalkar has given his beautiful text a visual life.
