Bengali club Kallol of New Jersey to host an international virtual quiz

Spanning four continents and six time zones, the competition will be entering its fourth season

The fourth season of Kallol Quiz gets underway today with 16 teams taking part in a one-of-a-kind international virtual quiz. Organised by Kallol of New Jersey, one of the oldest Bengali clubs in the US, the competition began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, with teams outside the US registering the following year.

For 2023, the Kallol Quiz will see teams from New Jersey, Dallas, Chicago, California and Florida compete alongside contingents from Singapore, Sydney and London. Eight teams from the prelims will make it to the finals on December 2. 

Among the key members behind the Kallol Quiz are quizmaster Pinaki Datta, graphics and visual design expert Ritu Dasdatta as well as Joy Bhawmik and Shubhojit Choudhury, who will provide tech support. The rest of the team includes coordinator Ranjana Sanyal, supported by Sanchita Basu Mallick, Manjari Chowdhuri, Abhijit Neogy, Anurupa Mukherjee and Payal Bose.
