Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One
A Part One that does justice to the comic series and deserves its 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes

A Batman movie that doesn’t feature the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents is rare. This animation on Amazon Prime is a worthy adaptation of the legendary 13-issue comic series. It more than earns its 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, being a rare gem that actually allows the ‘world’s greatest detective’ to actually do some detective work. The film manages to break away from the curses of ‘Part Ones’ that only ever set up the finale. It doesn’t lower the stakes and retains the character’s dark tone. In this one, a holiday-killer is on the move, wiping off key players in Gotham as the caped crusader tries to find clues in the dark.
