While it is natural for fans to love and adore their favourite stars, they should also start honouring celebs’ right to privacy. A recent video, where a fan gives a virtual tour of Virat Kohli’s hotel room on a social media platform has sparked a debate on the need and acceptance of privacy for celebrities.

Virat Kohli, who re-shared the post on his Instagram, made his stand very clear. He wrote, ‘I understand that fans get very happy and excited on seeing their favourite players and want to meet them, and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment. (sic)’’
