It was at the iconic stage of Trincas Restaurant that Usha
Uthup made her mark in the 1960s and 70s, striking out as a woman in a
Kanjeevaram saree, singing the most popular jazz tunes of the time. Over the
years, Trincas and Usha di’s legacies have become intertwined, with one
being synonymous with the other. In their latest reel, the Park Street
restaurant shared a snippet of the legendary singer recounting how she took
requests from its most celebrated patrons. While Tiger Pataudi and Sharmila
Tagore asked her to present a rendition of Killing Me Softly whenever
they dropped by, Uttam Kumar and Supriya Devi always insisted on her singing Those
Were The Days. If this is making you crave an Usha Uthup concert, do try
dropping by Trincas one day. You never know, she might just take the stage!
