The U.S. Consulate Kolkata is celebrating Pride Month with some music and exuberance. The consulate dropped a music video featuring American Music Abroad alumni Sub-Radio, who performed their hit song King of My Heart, highlighting the importance of safety and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community. The consulate’s Facebook Page also shared an educational video to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and the landmark role it played in the fight for LGBTQ rights.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata also raised the rainbow flag to celebrate Pride month and reaffirm U.S. Government’s commitment to stand up for and defend the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons.
