Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy have surprised cinephiles with two announcements. While the first news is they are gearing up for their new film Amar Boss, the second news is the film has Rakhee Gulzar in the lead cast. The film will also star Shiboprosad himself along with Srabanti Chatterjee, with shooting starting from January 2024.
Shiboprosad and Nandita are currently basking in the success of their film Raktabeej, starring Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty. The film also brought Victor Banerjee back to the silver screen after a hiatus. Rakhee, too, is making a comeback to Bengali cinema and the silver screen after almost two decades.
If you are a Rakhee fan, while you wait for Amar Boss to hit the theatres, My Kolkata picks Bengali films like Badhu Baran, Parama and Shubho Mahurat among a few films to experience the powerhouse artist on screen. Rakhee’s last Bengali film was Nirban by Gautam Halder, which did not have a theatrical release but was showcased at several film festivals.
And when it comes to Shiboprosad and Nandita movies, My Kolkata recommends Raktabeej, Haami and Haami 2, Belasuru and Bela Sheshe and Praktan among a few films by them for a binge watch this holiday season.
