Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s much talked about new directorial venture Parnashavarir Shaap keeps adding one interesting factor after the other. While the screenplay and cast caught the attention of cinephiles and mythology lovers, eminent historian Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri collaborating with Parambrata and Chiranjeet Chakraborty to discuss about the myths, legends, folklores and history behind Parnashavari is an enriching experience for history and mythology lovers.

The conversation touched upon popular belief that Parnashavari is an incarnation of the deity Tara, and discussed the history of her identity. They then moved to how Parnashavari became a Shavar goddess, and whether the rituals involved can be termed Dionysiac.

With two images of the deity for reference, informed questions from Parambrata, inferences by Chiranjeet and learned opinions from Nrisingha Prasad, the video is not only insightful and informative, but also brings to light the in-depth research that forms the backbone of Parnashavarir Shaap.
