Embark on a journey of heritage story-telling with a special series by Kolkata Classics. Anindya Sundar Basu of (@pikturenama) and Dolon Dutta Chowdhury of @poutpretty have collaborated to discover, rediscover and tell the forgotten tales of iconic eateries in Kolkata. “Initially, it was all about clicking pictures but we realised that if we were going, why not capture these places in a way that would enable us to share the story with others? Kolkata Classics is our humble tribute and homage to Kolkata,” shared Anindya.
“It is possible that many of these places will cease to exist in a few year’s time. So we wanted to create a repository for the generations to come of all these memories that our mothers, fathers, uncles, etc have of these legendary places of Kolkata,” added Dolon.
The first episode on Nalin Chandra Das & Sons is out! The video unveils the rich history of a 190-year-old sweet shop credited with inventing chocolate sandesh. For a deeper dive into Kolkata’s intriguing past, don’t forget to follow Kolkata Classics. These blogger friends promise to be your guides through both the familiar and lesser-known facets of the city.
