The basket bag trend is clearly here to stay and this woven seagrass basket bag can be a great accessory this season. Woven by the female artisans of West Bengal, this open-top bag is shaped almost like a picnic basket, with an asymmetrical detail and stylised colour-blocking in shades of tangerine, black and ivory. This basket has been woven with elephant grass also known as sabai and takes three days to weave by hand. The sabai grass itself is cut by hand and dried to make sure it can be woven into ropes and baskets. Traditionally natural and vegetable dyes are used to give the elephant grass its bright hues. Not only is this basket a versatile carry-all for your collection but it’s also completely organic and sustainably produced.
