The pop genre has seen some incredible music drop in the last year. Naturally, the AMAs were flooded with a host of top-notch nominees, all equally deserving going toe-to-toe with each other. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran swept up awards for Favourite Female and Male Pop Artists, respectively, but our hearts were set on the duo that brought us You Right — Doja Cat and The Weeknd.
You Right features on Doja Cat’s third studio album Planet Her and soared to the top of the US Rhythmic Billboard charts in 2021. The song’s melody is largely influenced by Doja Cat’s unique interjections and is a delightful throwback to The Weeknd’s initial music (think: Can’t Feel My Face). This steamy single isn’t the first time the singer-rapper duo have collaborated. In 2020, The Weeknd featured Doja Cat on an intoxicating single In Your Eyes that was a mega-hit. Tune in!
