Stevie Wonder celebrated the birth of his daughter Aisha Morris with the 1976 track Isn’t She Lovely. It went on to become one of the greatest tunes composed by the legendary singer-songwriter. The song opens the third side of Wonder’s 18th studio album Songs in the Key of Life and highlights his mastery on manifold instruments — from ivories and drums to percussion and bass synths. However, the real magic lies in the 30-second harmonica solo (believed to be an impromptu concoction), which is an apt testament of how talented Wonder is as a musician.
In October 2021, the Master Blaster singer released the tune Finish Line on Elton John’s 32nd studio album The Lockdown Sessions, which left us spiralling back in time on a Stevie-Wonder listening spree. We recommend sitting back and listening to the original six-minute version of this lyrical beauty.
