Right Said Fred’s 1991 debut single became a huge hit in Britain for its upbeat vibe and goofy lyrics, which take a dig at the fashion industry. It was also number one for six weeks in the United States and went on to become an international hit. It keeps popping back up in new avatars; it was sung by Prince Charming in Shrek 2, while Taylor Swift mimicked the beat of the song in the chorus of ‘Look What You Made Me Do’. This month it appeared again on ‘Way 2 Sexy’ – one of the songs on Drake’s new album, Certified Lover Boy. However, the Fairbrass brothers themselves were inspired by Cozy Powell’s 1974 solo drum instrumental, ‘Dance with the Devil’. Go back and compare the music!
