Kelly Clarkson and John Legend’s cover is indeed a classic

Frank Loesser’s popular Oscar-winning holiday number Baby It’s Cold Outside found itself in troubled waters in the #MeToo era when the new crop of listeners questioned some of its problematic lyrics. Since then several singers have given the retro number a do-over and Kelly Clarkson and John Legend’s cover is a widely loved version.
During season 16 of the American reality show The Voice, coaches Clarkson and Legend sang a cover of Baby It’s Cold Outside in front of a giant Christmas tree. Clarkson and Legend performed it again in 2020 during The Kelly Clarkson Show and the duet also features on the deluxe edition of Legend’s holiday album, A Legendary Christmas. Though some of the lyrics have been switched up, Legend retained the jazz elements with his piano and Clarkson’s strong vocals added some great dimensions to this classic number.
