The two musicians talk about music and Murshidabad’s silk in the latest episode of ‘Songs of the River’

If you listen closely, you’ll discover a rhythm in everything. This musical philosophy was deeply explored by Shantanu Moitra and vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty during the latest episode of Songs of the River, a streaming show put together by Moitra on YouTube as he travels alongside river Ganga. A snippet shared on Instagram features a scene with Kaushiki Chakraborty as they visit Murshidabad’s Silk Mecca to observe weavers manually crafting silk. Not only did they discern a rhythm in the weaving process, but Kaushiki also shared a heartfelt story about her father and grandfather. Watch the full episode right here.
