Groove into the weekend with Sahana Bajpaie’s ‘Shaajo Shaajao’
A peppy number from Anirban Bhattacharya's directorial debut in cinema

The first song of Anirban Bhattacharya-directed Ballabhpurer Roopkotha is out now and popular singer Sahana Bajpaie steals the show with her melodic voice and versatility. The foot-tapping number, Shaajo Shaajao, is penned by Anirban and composed by Debraj Bhattacharya.
The music arrangement is an interesting combination of melodica, violin, kartal, guitar, ektara and percussions — giving a feel of the old days, but with a twist. “The song is beautifully written and composed. We had a great time while recording it. Shaajo Shaajao is one of those songs that comes to you once in a lifetime and I think it’s brilliant,” says Bajpaie.
The song, which released on October 7 on YouTube, can also be heard on Hungama, Wynk, JioSaavn, Spotify, Amazon, Resso and Apple Music. The film is adapted from theatre legend Badal Sircar’s play of the same name and is releasing this Kali Puja.
