Italian rock band Maneskin made their Saturday Night Live debut last week and performed two tracks, their iconic cover of Beggin' and an original number titled, I Wanna Be Your Slave. The four-member band features vocalist Damiano David, bassists Victoria De Angelis and Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio, and found widespread stardom when they won the 2021 Eurovision contest.
While fans were expecting Beggin’ to be on the band’s roster for SNL, no one was expecting them to belt out a new and original track. I Wanna Be Your Slave from Maneskin’s latest album Teatro d’ira is a well-paced, danceable number. Clad in a fierce Gucci floral suit Damiano had the audience’s rapt attention as he sang, “I wanna be your slave / I wanna be your master / I wanna make your heartbeat / run like roller-coasters.”
