Lorde just dropped a new track titled Leader of a New Regime. The 1:33 minute number is a near-interlude from Lorde’s third studio album, Solar Power. The singer also dropped a music video for the song which she directed with Joel Kefali who had also helmed the music video for her song Mood Ring.
“Wearing SPF 3000 for the ultraviolet rays/ Made it to the island on the last of the outbound planes/ Got a trunk full of Simone and Céline, and of course, my magazines/ I’m gonna live out my days,” Lorde sings as she explores a rocky island in the video. Lorde’s new sound for Solar Power was widely appreciated by her fans as it became clear the pop star is steering towards a more upbeat and methodical approach.
