Billie Eilish was the host and musical guest at last week’s Saturday Night Live where she performed several live skits and also new songs from her Grammy-nominated second studio album Happier Than Ever. Billie’s parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell introduced her for the first performance where she sang the title track - a sombre, personal account of a failed relationship.
The song has a versatile melody that works great for acoustic performances but Billie quickly took the track to a dynamic crescendo with rock arrangements, which set the SNL stage on fire. Billie’s brother and collaborator Finneas joined her on-stage for the later part of her performance and accompanied her on guitar. “This week was a dream,” Billie wrote on Instagram and also thanked the SNL team.
Happier Than Ever is available on all streaming platforms.
