A Bollywood stylist explains horizontal and vertical curls

Bollywood hairstylist Amit Thakur who works with A-listers like Deepika Padukone, Shanaya Kapoor and Katrina Kaif recently took to Instagram to share some basic know-how about curling your hair. “There are versions ways to curl the hair, which depends on the kind of curl you wish to achieve, horizontal curling gives more of the #retro kinda wave whereas vertical #curling gives you more of a #beachy undone wave,” he wrote alongside his video.
The curling iron when placed horizontally creates an S-wave pattern, so the curls look more defined and red-carpet-ready. The vertical styling is a bit more flexible and also quicker since it aims at a relaxed, undone look. Consistency is quite crucial when you’re curling your hair at home, so stick to one direction!
