Mumbai’s Mizu Izakaya brings unique Japanese flavours to JW Marriott Kolkata

Get ready for a culinary adventure as Mizu Izakaya, Mumbai’s beloved sushi spot brings its unique flavours to Kolkata for the first time. Head to Vintage Asia at JW Marriott to try Mizu Izakaya’s “gutsy, modern Japanese dishes made with bold ingredients from the Indian subcontinent”. Founded by childhood friends Vedant Malik and Lakhan Jethani, this modern Izakaya-style restaurant made it to Culinary Culture’s Ultimate Restaurant Ratings list in February 2024. Curated by Jethani, who is also head chef, the pop-up menu features dishes like Fresh Seaweed Salad, Kozara (small plates), and an array of sushi rolls. Highlights include Hamachi with garam masala-smoked Ponzu, Salmon Yuzu Truffle, and Stuffed Bhavnagri with Tare. Enjoy a range of Gyoza served with Kashmiri chilli la-yu, steamed open baos like Chicken Karaage Bao, and more. Wash it down with a curated selection of Mizu Izakaya’s signature cocktails, and sweeten the deal with decadent desserts like Sakura, a single-origin Madagascar Chocolate Mousse, or house-made gelatos.
