If you’re looking at a summer of salads and soups, we recommend browsing through Burma Burma’s online pantry which lines up some great Asian dressings, curry pastes and even some DIY kits. One of their signatures is the Laphet, which is a traditional fermented tea leaf dressing. Its nuanced flavour is obtained by an intricate fermentation process (where leaves are fermented by hand). The Laphet works around the bitter notes of fresh tea leaves to offer a rich, complex flavour profile and aroma.

The Laphet can be used for stir-fries, fried rice and it can be used as a dip. It can work wonders as a salad dressing, since its flavour can unlock the earthiness in certain veggies. Just add a spoonful of Laphet to a bowl of lettuce, tomato and cabbage and add a little lemon juice and maybe some nuts and you’re good to go!
