Some of the smoothest men on TV are whisky sour drinkers, be it Peaky Blinders’ Tommy Shelby or Mad Men’s Don Draper. But what makes this drink so popular? The whisky sour dates back to the 1860s and was invented by the British Navy. It’s a well-balanced English classic made with Bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg white, garnished with Sun-dried Orange slices and Angostura bitters.
In many ways, the whiskey sour is like a Bourbon Old Fashioned but with a citrusy twist and its sour accent is what enhances its flavour. If you fancy some whisky sour this weekend, head to L.A Bar & Kitchen that serves a terrific Instagram-worthy whisky sour. Pair it with something classic like Salt & Pepper Chicken or something indulgent like a Burmese chicken.
