The movie The Theory of Everything shows Stephen Hawking having an epiphany about the mechanisms of the universe while watching milk swirling into his cup of black coffee. One can only hope that The Theory of Flat White at Potboiler Coffee House, named after Hawking’s book, is just as inspiring. Perhaps writers will overcome writer’s block and young entrepreneurs will make a breakthrough while ordering this cuppa. Jokes apart, a great Flat White is for everyone who’s tired of the usual cappuccino, right? And the reason we’re reaching for this one is because it’s infused with cinnamon, caramel and vanilla. Yes, we needed the extra flavour while the rain clouds reflect our grey mood.
Potboiler uses their signature Arabica house-blend coffee for the espresso shot – the foamed milk giving it a full-bodied richness. The spicy cinnamon balances out the sweet caramel while the vanilla basically makes it smell like dessert. If you’re feeling blue, this is the pick-me-up you might want to try.
