With an aim to find recipes that are unique and uncommon, they unravel the history of the food while showing the preparation of the dish. This video spotlights a Parsi delicacy called Prawn Patia, which they have learnt from Satarupa Bandopadhyay, a prolific cookbook author. This dish brings together the sweet taste of prawn, tomatoes and jaggery. The flavourful gravy is made of a paste with fresh coriander leaves, garlic cloves and chillies.
After heating up white oil in a pan, onions are fried till golden to which the fragrant paste is added. Vinegar is used to add some tartness while tomatoes give the gravy a rich colour and sweetness. Add in the prawns once the gravy is cooked and then serve with warm white rice!
As you watch the video, not only do you get the recipe but also a slice of history behind the recipe, which makes the experience quite unique. So, don’t miss this one.
