In between the crunchy festive snacks, and the indulgent sweets, it’s easy to overlook the little things like a dip for your fried-food or chips platters. This easy dip is made in minutes and adds that extra something. Plus, you can always use it as salad dressing for the post-festival diet.
Ingredients:
(Measures can be multiplied for more people)
100 gm Greek yogurt or curd
1 heaped spoon cream cheese or mayonnaise (optional)
2 heaped spoon finely chopped or minced garlic
2 tsp white sesame
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp honey or sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Chilli oil (optional)
Method:
1. Drain out the excess water from the curd or Greek yogurt using a fine tea strainer or cheesecloth. Just about 10-15 minutes should be enough, or while you prepare the other ingredients.
2. In a small pan, add some oil and fry the finely chopped garlic until a deep golden brown and aromatic. In a separate pan, dry roast the sesame until toasty golden and aromatic.
3. Take a clean, dry bowl and add the curd. Using a small balloon whisk lightly whisk the curd to a creamy consistency. If you wish you can add some mayonnaise or cream cheese to the curd and whisk. Add the salt, pepper, chilli flakes according to taste followed by the fried garlic and sesame. Mix together and add a few drops of chilli oil if you have some and about a tsp of honey or sugar, or more if you like the dip a little sweet. Mix together till sugar dissolves or honey is incorporated.
4. Spoon into bowls and sprinkle some extra toasted sesame on top.
